Ingredients:
- Kollu (Horse gram) - 3/4 cup
- Small onions - 8
- Curry leaves
- Tomato - 1
- Garlic - 2
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Red chillies - 3
- Water for cooking kollu - 2 cups
- Gingelly oil
- Mustard seeds
- Salt
Dry roast and grind:
- Jeera - 1 tbsp
- Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Preparation:
Dry roast the ingredients. Crush them into powder and keep aside.
Pressure cook kollu by adding turmeric and 2 cups of water. After it gets cooked, let it cool down. Then, grind it in a mixie jar for 2 to 3 pulses and keep it aside.
In a pan, add gingelly oil and mustard seeds. Then, add garlic, small onions, curry leaves and saute them for few minutes.
Then, add tomatoes and saute until it becomes mashy. After that, add the grounded powder and turmeric powder and saute for a minute.
Finally, add the mashed kollu and salt and let it cook for 10 minutes. Serve hot with ghee.
