Ingredients:
- Idli rice - 1/2 cup
- Chana dhal - 1/4 cup
- Urad dhal -2 tbsp
- Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tbsp
- Toor dhal - 1/4 cup
- Horse gram/kollu - 2 tbsp
- Chick peas - 1/4 cup
- Small onions - 4 (optional)
- Ginger - Small piece
- Jeera - 1 tbsp
- Red chilli - 1
- Chopped onion (optional)
- Drumstick leaves (optional)
- Salt
Preparation:
Soak idli rice along with the aforementioned dhals and a red chilli for 4 hours.
Grind the soaked ingredients along with ginger, jeera and salt into smooth/coarse batter (as per your preference) in a mixer grinder. Tip: Optionally, add small onions while grinding the ingredients to get crispier dosa.
You may make plain adai dosas with the batter or you may add chopped onions and/or chopped drumstick leaves to make it even more tastier.
In a dosa tawa, add 1 big spoon/ladle of batter and sprinkle oil and let it cook on both the sides.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or any other chutney/sambar of your choice.
