Ingredients:
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tbsp
- Onion - 1 (big size)
- Tomatoes - 3 (medium size)
- Green chilli - 1
- Red chillies - 3
- Curry leaves
- Corriander leaves
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Oil
- Salt
To grind:
- Coconut pieces - a few
- Ginger - Small piece
- Garlic - 2
- Roasted chana dhal - 4 tbsp
Preparation:
Grind the aforementioned ingredients and make a smooth paste out of it.
In a pan, add oil, mustard seeds and let the seeds crackle. Add chopped onions, chillies, curry leaves and saute until the color of onion changes.
Then, add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder along with salt and cook until it becomes mushy.
Then, add the grounded coconut paste and bring it to boil and cook for 10 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves at last.
Serve hot with idli/dosa/paniyaram/chapathi.
