Ingredients:
- Grated bottle guard - 1/2 piece
- Onion - 1
- Tomato - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
- Gram dhal powder - 2 tbsp
- Chilli powder - 2 tbsp
- Sombu powder - 1.5 tbsp
- Salt
- Oil
Preparation:
Grate the bottle guard and keep aside.
In a pan, add oil, mustard seeds and let the seeds crackle. Add chopped onions and saute it until it turns light brownish in color. Then, add the ginger garlic paste and saute until its raw smell goes off.
Then, add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, sombu powder, grated bottle guard and salt and cook well.
After it gets cooked, mix the gram dhal powder with water and add to the gravy and cook for 5 more minutes. Tip: Instead of gram dhal powder, you may add coconut paste.
Serve hot with dosa/chapathi/roti.
