Ingredients:
- Chana dhal - 1 cup
- Ginger - An inch
- Garlic - 2 pods
- Sombu - 1 tsp
- Purple cabbage - 1/4 of full cabbage
- Mint leaves - a hand full
- Salt
- Red chillies - 2
- Oil for frying
Preparation:
Chop the onions, cabbage, mint leaves, ginger, garlic and keep it ready. Soak chana dhal for 2 hours.
In a mixie jar, add ginger, garlic, soaked dhal, salt, sombu, red chillies and coarse grind it. Then, add chopped cabbage and mint leaves to the ground mixture and mix well. Tip: Add more mint leaves if you wish, as it gives good flavor to vadai.
Make small balls out of the mixture and make patties and fry it in oil till it turns golden brown.
Serve hot with coffee/tea.
