Raw Mango Thokku


Ingredients:

  • Grated mango -1
  • Mustard seeds -1/4 tsp
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek powder - 1 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt
  • Gingelly oil

Preparation:

Take a medium sized raw mango and grate it.

Add oil in a pan and heat it. Once hot, add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle. Then, add the grated mango and saute it along with asafoetida for 3 to 4 minutes - until it becomes soft.

To that, add chilli powder, turmeric, salt, oil and cook well. Then, add fenugreek powder and saute for 5 minutes until the oil oozes out. Tip: Be generous in adding oil.

Have the thokku with curd rice or dosa or chapathi.
