Avaraikkai Poriyal


Ingredients:

  • Avaraikkai - 1/4 kg
  • Onion - 1
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Chana dhal - 2 tsp
  • Split urad dhal - 2 tsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Ginger - 1/4 inch
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Sambar powder - 1 tbsp
  • Grated coconut -2 tbsp
  • Oil
  • Salt

Preparation:

Add oil in a kadai and after it gets heated, crackle the mustard seeds and fry chana dhal and urad dhal for 1 minute. To that, add curry leaves, green chilly, ginger, onion and saute well.

To that, add the chopped avaraikai, salt, sambar powder, turmeric powder and cook well by sprinkling water. Finally, add the grated coconut and turn off the flame.

Serve hot with any sambar / rice.
